Event Overview Yreka, CA is located 22 miles south of the Oregon border on I-5 and is the county seat of Siskiyou County. Yreka's elevation is 2,595 ft. May is very pleasant with many wildflowers, but because of the elevation and the elevations you may climb, it is always best to be prepared for inclement weather. Siskiyou County is known for the Mt. Shasta Ski and Recreation Area, the Marble Mountain & Trinity Alps Wilderness Areas, trails, camping, bicycle touring and events, fishing, river rafting, historical districts, and now also has a casino in Yreka. There are 8 different rides: Longest Ride: 102 miles, all pavement, 5,902 ft. of elevation gain over Forest Mountain into Scott Valley, then over Gazelle Mountain back to Yreka. Metric Century: 67 miles, all pavement, to Edgewood with 2,303 ft. of elevation gain, same as last year's ride. 40 Mile Route: All pavement, 1,534 ft. elevation gain through Shasta Valley. 21 Mile Ride: All pavement, 1,055 ft. elevation gain through parts of Shasta Valley and Montague. Gravel Rides We have 2 gravel rides on Sunday May 19th sponsored by the Jefferson Mountain Bike Association: 39 Mile Route: Mostly gravel, 3 good hill climbs, 4,114 ft. of elevation gain over Greenhorn Summit. 62 Mile Route: Mostly gravel, 6,474 ft. of elevation gain over Greenhorn Summit into Ft.
