Share the Road Gran Fondo - 20th Anniversary Date and Location Date: September 20, 2026 Location: 2015 Pan Am Blvd, Milton, ON Details: Enjoy fully supported 40 km, 80 km, or 110 km routes through the Halton Hills. URL: Share the Road Gran Fondo Registration Background Inaugural Ride: Hosted in 2006 after the tragic death of OPP Sergeant Greg Stobbart. 20th Anniversary: Celebrating on the same roads where Greg trained, starting from the Mattamy National Cycling Centre. Mission: Share the Road Cycling Coalition aims to enhance road safety through advocacy, education, and legislative change. Community Impact: Focus on improving understanding and safety between motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians. Advocacy Efforts Infrastructure Improvement: The Coalition has worked to enhance cycling infrastructure across Ontario. Legislative Successes: Achievements include Greg's Law and the One Metre Safe Passing Law. Support: Success is attributed to the partnerships, funders, and donors supporting the Coalition’s mission. Ride for a Cause: Registering helps support the ongoing work towards safer roads. New Initiatives Bikeability for Ontario: Launching a cycling-skills education program based on a successful UK framework. Children's Education: Aims to instill confidence and safety knowledge for lifelong cycling habits. Partnerships: Collaborating with Bicycle Friendly Communities and road safety partners in Ontario.
