Northeast Velodrome Try the Track Clinic Date: September 12, 2026 Location: 23 Grenier Field Rd, Londonderry, NH URL: http://www.BikeReg.com/nev-try-the-track-clinic-0912 Clinic Overview This is a track riding and racing clinic for riders who are not familiar with riding a fixed gear or riding on a velodrome. Track racing has some peculiarities that make it a little different from road riding or racing. This clinic will give you the knowledge and experience necessary to begin track riding at the Northeast Velodrome. Course Skills Riding a Fixed Gear Getting Started: Getting started and stopping on a fixed gear bike Speed Control: Spinning and controlling your speed with your pedals instead of brakes Close Riding: Practice riding close to another rider Line Holding: Learning to hold a line while continuing to pedal through Track Riding Conventions and Etiquette Using the Bank: Learning how it feels to use the banking and the turns Terminology: The terminology of the track lanes Communication: How to move and communicate with the other riders on the track Paceline and Racing Skills Pace Line: Learning how to use the turns and the banking of the track to form and hold a pace line Taking Turns: Taking a turn on the front and then moving out and up and back to take a place at the back Race Rules: Learning race rules for various track events Course Details At the end, you will have the knowledge and some experience of track riding.
