What hill are we climbing? Location: The Carson City Everest Challenge will climb up Kings Canyon via King St from the intersection with Longview to the trailhead parking lot at the end of the paved road. Distance: The segment is 1.45 miles long and gains 552 ft of elevation. Gradient: The average gradient is 7.2% but there are sections of 12% grades. Event Date: The race takes place on 2026-09-26 at 39.162594, -119.793275 NF-039, Carson City, NV 89703. How long will it take? Fast Riders: Very fit riders will take on the order of 10 to 12 hours. Recreational Riders: For recreational riders, the event could take quite a bit longer. Course Timing: We will have the course open from 3:00AM to 9:00 PM for a total of 18 hours. Plan Accordingly: Riders should plan their times based on their fitness levels. How hard is this challenge? Endurance Event: A full Everest Challenge is a serious endurance event that requires a lot of training ahead of time.
