Event Overview Event: John Brown Time Trial Series Date: 2026-09-10 Location: 33440 W 79th St, De Soto, KS URL: http://www.BikeReg.com/john-brown-time-trial-4-2026 Description Purpose: Growin the Sport while Racin 4 Peanuts. Dates: Thursdays 6/11, 7/23, 8/20, & 9/10. Format: Fast-paced time trials for all categories. Fun: Get on your bike, go fast, and make friends! Course Details Length: 5 miles, the fastest and flattest in Kansas. Route: Predominantly West to East along the Kansas river bottoms. Challenge: Join the “9-minute club” for men or “10-minute club” for women. Testing: Compare your TT bike against your road bike. Registration Information Time: Registration opens at 5:45 PM: race starts after 6:30 PM. Cost: $25 which includes two 5-mile TT’s. Extra: A 3rd race may be added during longer summer months. Note: No bathrooms available: plan accordingly. Race Notes Intervals: Race intervals of 30 to 60 seconds based on participant numbers. Break: 5 to 10-minute break to change gear for second TT. Optional: Race twice at no additional charge. Limit: Possible to race three 5-mile TT’s during peak summer. Categories Men: Open, Cat 4, Cat 5, Masters 40+, 50+, & 60+. Women: Open, Cat 4, Masters 40+, 50+, & 60+. Special: 1st Timer Category, Tri Category. Eligibility: USAC race requirements apply for categories. Race Types Aero: All USA Cycling legal gear. Modern Merckx: Aero road frames allowed with restrictions on gear. Retro Merckx: Round tubes only, with a 5-second bonus for Wool Jersey. Cheater Class: For unconventional bikes and setups.
