Event Overview Event Name: 2026 RI North South Trail Gravel Race/Ride Date: September 6, 2026 Location: 107 Wallum Lake Rd, Douglas, MA URL: BikeReg Page Race Details Parking: Important Note: Parking for the Start is ½ mile up Wallum Lake Road at the 1st Dirt Trail Head because the main entrance to the Park doesn't open until after 8 AM, you would need to pay to park, and the line to enter the park is long. About the Event: This is the FREE Labor Day “Reach the Beach” NS Trail Gravel Race/Ride. Awards: Awards will be given for winners for the OA finish in each category. Donation: All participants are asked to make a Tax deductible donation to the “Tunnels to Towers” organization or the Whitin Community Center. Course Information GPS Track: The GPS track is provided and follows the NS trail from Douglas, MA 82 miles to Blue Shutters Beach in Charlestown, RI. Terrain: There is a mix of road, gravel, cart roads, single track and some short “hike a bike” sections. Bike Requirements: Any bike Gravel or Mountain Bike with no wider than 2.1 tires will be a good choice to best manage the course. Bug Repellent: The woods do have deer flies, so bring bug repellent. Post-Race Information Family Day: Encourage your family to spend the day at Blue Shutters Beach where the ride finishes. Facilities: Changing and shower facilities are available at the Beach. Beach Pass: You do need to pay for a day beach pass, but after 5 PM entry is free. Finish Time: Anticipated finish around 4 PM.
