Location Highlights Excellent Opportunities: Hayden and West Routt County have some excellent road and mountain biking opportunities. Quiet Roads: Enjoy a great network of quiet, rural gravel roads. Ride Options 31 mile scenic ‘Gravel Grinder’ : This ride starts with a challenging pavement ascent on the Cog, then circles west on gravel roads around Elkhead Reservoir. 27 mile ‘Mud Route’ : Almost entirely on gravel and dirt, this route begins with a spectacular climb up the Middle Cog and traverses remote backcountry including the homestead of Ferry Carpenter. 43 mile ‘Combined Ride’ : This option features the best of both the Gravel Grinder and Mud Route. Start Time The “Combined”, "Gravel Grinder", and "Mud Route" rides will all begin at 9:00 AM.
