2026 EMERALD MOUNTAIN EPIC Benefitting Routt County Riders and Partners in Routt County Race Overview Date: August 8, 2026 Location: Howelsen Pkwy, Steamboat Springs, CO URL: Emerald Mountain Epic Experience: The Emerald Mountain Epic attracts some of the nation's best mountain bike and trail running racers, while still offering incredible opportunities for athletes of all skill levels to test their meddle. Trail Details Course: 90% singletrack with major elevation gains. Participant Limit: Our permit allows for 500 racers on the start line each day. Categories: No specific limit placed on individual categories. MOUNTAIN BIKE RACES - August 8, 2026 SOLO Race Distance: 52 miles with approximately 6,600 feet of elevation gain. Pro/Open: Men's and Women's Races. Citizen: Men's and Women's Races. Singlespeed: All Races. JR: Youth 18 or less. DUO Relay Teams: Teams of two, each completing 26 mile laps with about 3,300 feet gained. Men's Team: Competition category. Women's Team: Competition category. Co-Ed Team: Mixed team category. TRAIL RUNNING RACES - August 9, 2026 FULL Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles with approximately 3,300 feet of elevation gain. Categories: Men's and Women's Races. HALF Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles with approximately 1,500 feet of elevation gain. Categories: Men's and Women's Races.
