Welcome Welcome to the 17th Annual Brake the Cycle of Poverty fundraising event for Friend, Inc. Community Services! Event Overview Scenic Routes: Ride the most scenic routes in Berks County. Community Commitment: Join a community of riders dedicated to changing the world for people living in poverty one pedal stroke at a time. Supportive Atmosphere: Feel the extraordinary support and excitement throughout the journey. Goal: Together, we aim to reach our goal—Braking the Cycle of Poverty. Ride Features Four Routes: The Ride features four routes that offer something for everyone. Variety of Distances: From weekend warriors to hardcore endurance cyclists. Scenic Views: Each distance features breathtaking views, fearsome mountain climbs, rolling hills, and winding backroads. SAG Support: Enjoy SAG support and well-marked roads throughout the ride. Course Options 62 Mile Metric Century: Offers a ride through 2 of the covered bridges in Berks County. 40 Mile Ride: A rolling hills ride that crosses two county covered bridges. 25 Mile Route: Winding backroads ideal for various cyclists. 10 Mile Easy Scenic Ride: Perfect for beginners and families (no fearsome mountain climbs!). Date and Location Date: Saturday, August 8, 2026 Location: Rickenbach Learning Center at Kutztown University, 250 College Blvd, Kutztown, PA 19530 Schedule Check-in: Starts at 7 AM on the day of the ride.
