NICA Discovery - Hurricane, WV - New Friends Level 1 We are so excited for your child to participate in NICA Discovery! Overview Program Dates: August 3-7, 2026 Time: 5:30 PM Location: Hurricane City Park, 3543 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, WV Level: New Friends - aimed at children who are new to biking but have some limited experience Safety and Leadership Background Checks: All NICA Discovery adult leaders are background checked and hold a coaching license from NICA. First Aid: There will always be at least 2 leaders with current first aid training. Program Requirements Eligibility: Participants must be able to ride a bike without training wheels and should be ages 7-11 by program start date. Registration: Registration for NICA Discovery is through the platform BikeReg. Go to BikeReg to find your location. Required Documentation Online: Parents must print, review the CODE OF CONDUCT with their child, sign and bring it to the first session for participation. Waivers: Every rider must have a signed waiver and medical release form. A link to the waiver can be found HERE . Required Equipment Helmet: Less than 5 years old with no visible cracks or defects. Footwear: Closed-toe shoes that are secured with laces, straps, or buckles. Bike: Bike with knobby tires, gears, and two hand brakes: tires should be no smaller than 20 inches.
