Race Overview Mud Sweat & Gears is a mountain bike race held at the Comlara park trail system. Event Details Date: 2026-08-29 Location: 13001 Recreation Area Dr, Hudson, IL Race Type: MSG Mountain XC style event Race URL: Mud Sweat and Gears MTB Race Course Information Course Features: The race will traverse new sections of single track along Evergreen Lake with sections of open fields, double track, single track, and a few short road sections connecting trails for the sport and expert classes. Novice and Kids Loops: Off-road with no road sections. Safety Notice: Please no earbuds or headphones for safety reasons and course marshall communication. Loop Distances Novice Loop: Approximately 6-8 miles. Details Sport Loop: Approximately 14.75 miles. Please Review the course guide , related to road sections. Expert Loop: Two loops of the Sport Loop. Details Additional Information Kids Race: There is a free kids race for those under the age of 12. Caboose Event: A non-competitive event where riders choose either the Novice or Sport/Expert courses, no awards will be given. Recommend carrying a cell phone for reporting mechanical issues. Road Awareness: Sport and Expert riders will need to pay attention to short sections of public roads that connect the trail systems. The roads will be open to all traffic during the event.
